5 Things Sunday

1.  The weather

It's winter here in Australia, but it hasn't been that cold!  Well, until now.  Gorgeous clear days, perfect for lying in the sun with a good book or stitching.  As long as you can find a wind-free spot, that is.  Yeah, gorgeous sunny days...  With wind cropping up every now and again.  Oh well. I'd post a pic, but the only shot of the sky that I can get around here is marred by the fact that the sun's starting to set.  At 4pm in the afternoon.  Ahh winter, how I love you...

2.  Scarves!

These are the staples of my wardrobe at the moment.  (Which are in the wash...) My favorite is my bright red Sportsgirl scarf, it's such a great way to brighten up my outfits! Especially since it's ruffle-ly and really, really warm.

3. Clannad

Since I got Botan (who I mentioned last week), I figured it was a good idea to actually watch the anime that he's from.  Especially since I have friends obsessed with this anime =P  It's actually pretty awesome, so far I'm really enjoying it!

4.  Max Brenner Hot Chocolates

Omg so good.  I went there while I was in Melbourne a few years back, but I was flat broke so I didn't get one then.  However a friend of mine bought a chocolate pizza (marshmallows, nutella, cornflakes, white chocolate bits), which was totally delicious.  So when it opened up in Brisbane, I had to try a hot chocolate!  It was like melted chocolate + milk.  That's what it tasted like, anyway.  So. Very.  Good.  I'll get a photo next time I go ;)

5. Inspiration then Action rather than Inaction

If you've been reading this blog for a while, then you might have figured out one thing about me - I tend to have great ideas then never act on them.  However lately I've been inspired to actually finish stuff I've started!  That, and I intend to start sewing again.  Let's see if this actually comes to something ;)

Until next time,
-C

It's been a while...  Life's been pretty hectic around here, finally 3/4 way through my prac, so hopefully I can get more pattern making / stitching sometime...  For now, here's a small pattern inspired by this demotivational poster:

23 before 23: 6 month update!

Back in August I posted about 23 things that I wanted to achieve before I hit 23 next year (read about it here). Since we're at the 6 month mark, I thought an update was in store!

Writing this post and reading over my list I'm realising how much I've got to achieve - school holidays now, time to get busy! So far I've achieved...

12. Spend a day at the beach
Check! Was a gorgeous day and both myself and my boyfriend came back without being completely roasted. Considering how pale we both are, that was a surprise.

19. Find a signature makeup look
It only occurred to me the other day that I'd done this - I <3 my winged liner and bright lip.

20. Read 2 "classic" novels
Done and done!
Clearly I've gotten lazy with my book reviewing, haha. I've since read The Great Gatsby, Little Women and am currently marathoning my way through Anna Karenina.

I've noticed it just seems like I'm not a Jane Austen fan but have enjoyed all of the others that I've re…

Pichu Cross Stitch

My first cross stitch creation, created with KG-Chart LE.  It's a Pichu (from Pokemon), and I'm hoping to continue with this Pokemon theme through other cross stitches.  If I get around to this, I'll post a picture when I'm done =)
